Fun with Snowmen

These snowmen that my aunt made for us last Christmas have also provided fun for Sam. I think they are another distraction that keeps him unaware of the Christmas tree.

Sam loves to pull their hats off and scatter them all over the house. He really gets a kick out of pulling them off and throwing them over & over. Thanks Aunt Kathy Jo!

Nativity Scene

Sam has been great with the Christmas tree. I was debating about getting a fence for the tree to keep Sam (& the dogs) away from it but we decided to risk it and kept our fingers crossed that he wouldn't pull it down on top of himself or go on an ornament rampage.
I think one of the things that has kept the tree safe is our nativity scene. I made this when I was little...hence the 2x4s & felt! This is what it usually looks like under the tree.

The wisemen are on the other wall since they don't show up until Jesus is older.

This is what it looks like after Sam has had his fun...not that different but where are the shepherds?

Oh, they (& the cow) are hanging out ON the gifts looking down at the angel! Sam will do this every time I "fix" it and put the shepherds and sometimes the sheep and cow on top of our gifts!

Christmas Decorations

Happy Little Tiger

The weekend after Thanksgiving we were happy to watch the Tigers (on TV) beat the Carolina Gamecocks. Sam celebrated by sporting the orange overalls that Mimi made him. Go Tigers!!!

Thanksgiving '07

We spent Thanksgiving day with the Millers (Pops, Nana, Uncle John, Aunt Stacy, & Aunt Meg) in Anderson. Mamaw & Papaw along with Aunt Rita Kay made the trip from Arkansas. Cousins David, Leah, & Luke came up from Florida and so did cousin Amy. We had a great time visiting with family and eating good food!

Sam & Luke hanging out with Mamaw.

Baby Noah

I am VERY far behind on posting...just a few to catch up.
My good friend Sara Norman Todd had her son Noah on October 14...the day after Sam's birthday! We went to visit them the week before Thanksgiving. So good to see them & also get to visit with Sara's husband Chandler during his lunch break.

Finished Pumpkins

Pumpkin Carving

We went the other weekend to a pumpkin patch & picked out pumpkins to carve. After about a week we finally got around to carving them!

Sam kept thinking the pumpkins were balls & wanted to throw them.

Josh at work.

Sam vs. Ballpoint Pen

We were at the post office the other week & Sam decided it would be fun to play with the pen-on-a-chain. Praise God he didn't poke his eye out!

New Puppy!

We have welcomed a new puppy to the Miller family. Dozer is a chocolate lab & cocker spaniel mix. Shiloh is putting him in his place & Sam loves him.

Sam is 1!!!

Sam turned 1 on October 13th. We had a family party to celebrate.
Josh & Sam on the deck getting the grill ready before our guests arrived.
Sam with his cake. He was pretty laid-back about the whole deal.
He finally dug into the cake after some encouragement.
Yum, cake!
We are so blessed to have this little boy as part of our lives. Thanks to everyone who helped make his day great!

Memories

Sam was all smiles in his birthday hard hat...although it made him look more like a coal miner than a construction worker!

I was all smiles after making & decorating Sam's cake. However that smile later turned to frustration when Shiloh (our mostly good dog) got into the cake & ate the part from the construction cone to the edge. I can laugh about it now...

Party Pictures!

Most of our guests for Sam's big day. We love you all!

Sam's Pappa came up for the VaTech game...we took the opportunity to help him celebrate his birthday. I made him a chocolate cake & Sam got to enjoy it too (thanks to his Daddy). Check out the candles & chocolate face below!

Watching Dad Mow

Sam & I were in the guest bedroom/office the other night while Josh was cutting the grass. I opened the blinds so Sam could watch Josh...it was too cute!

Sam is learning all of Josh's lawn cutting techniques...no grass clippings on the street!

You can almost see Josh waving to us in this one.
